Jeff Lofton Quartet's Sunday Jazz Brunch
celebrates 1-year residency at Waterloo Ice House
and more jazz on Congress Avenue

AUSTIN, TX - August 3, 2009 - August marks the one-year anniversary of the Jeff Lofton Quartet's Sunday Jazz Brunch residency at Waterloo Ice House. The weekly jazz fix swings from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., and recently moved from Waterloo Ice House on 38th Street to the new, larger Waterloo Ice House at Hill Country Galleria, 12815 Shops Pkwy, Suite 100, (Bees Cave Road).

This news, along with more venues hosting jazz on Congress Avenue, shows jazz is thriving in the "live music capital of the world." Lofton's trio has a Thursday residency at Cissi's Market and Wine Bar, 1400 S. Congress, from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., and returns to Annie's Café and Bar, 319 Congress on August 14 and 29. He recently completed a six-month residency at The Belmont on Austin's famous 6th Street.

"I'm very grateful to Waterloo Ice House for recognizing the importance of jazz, and to jazz fans for supporting the music," says jazz trumpeter and bandleader Jeff Lofton. "I'm still new to town and

Bye Bye Paul Ray's Jazz
Written by Everett Christopher
Monday, 06 July 2009
Why am I not surprised?? KUT is corporate-owned after all. Well, one thing I can say for sure, Austinjazz.net and TexasJazzFest.com will never be corporate-owned. And because of that I can say my podcasts and websites will never go away. Thank God for the internet. Actually, I would like to personally invite Paul Ray to start a podcast segment here on Austinjazz.net. He could have his own section on the site. If anyone knows him, pass the word.

Here's the story at Austin360.com
